Dunavant has added a second chemical warehousing facility in an existing complex near the Port of Houston, bringing its distribution space in the local market to 789,000 square feet.

The Memphis-based company handles warehousing of products ranging from consumer goods to chemical supplies.

The new warehouse, at 9431 Bay Area Blvd., adds 262,000 square feet of chemical and flammable liquid storage capacity near near the Bayport and Barbours Cut terminals.

"Our growing customer demand and successful relationship with Houston's distribution center complex prompted growth in Dunavant's warehousing capacity," Richard McDuffie, chief operating officer of Dunavant, said in an announcement.

The company expanded its space in Pasadena's Bay Area Business Park earlier this year.
