Dunavant Expands Domestic and Global Footprint
MEMPHIS, TN— Memphis-based Dunavant Global Logistics Group, LLC has announced the addition of two new subsidiaries to its global footprint— the acquisition of John M. Brining, Inc., a Mobile, Alabama based private customs brokerage company, and the opening of Dunavant International Freight Agency in Shenzhen and Hong Kong, China.
“Dunavant continues to respond to growing customer demand across all verticals,” said Richard McDuffie, COO of Dunavant. “Our unique customer service and commitment to quality and delivery yield benefits to both Dunavant and our clientele. By offering complete door-to-door domestic and global services, we are able to manage the complete international supply chain.”
On the domestic front, Dunavant has acquired John M. Brining, Inc., a Mobile, Alabama based family company founded in 1946 that specializes in customs brokerage and customized delivery shipping alternatives.
“Over the years, we’ve had many opportunities to sell,” said Lillian C. Brining, J.M. Brining president. “But due to our strong, small family business culture, we were waiting for the right partner with aligning values. We value Dunavant’s integrity and are confident in their approach.”
The company’s expansion adds the Mobile, Alabama market to the global company footprint, offering new clients and new employees to the Dunavant family to produce this new in-house customs brokerage service.
“J.M. Brining’s attention to quality customer service is superb and well-aligned with the Dunavant philosophy,” said William B. Dunavant, III. “Their pristine national reputation, coupled with strong family values, allow us to grow not only our business, but also our culture.”
Dunavant’s new China-based subsidiary, Dunavant International Freight Agency, will offer comprehensive booking agent services, perform Intra-Asia freight and trucking services, and serve as the liaison for providing U.S. Destination agent services to China-only based forwarders. The China office is led by Victor Xiong.
Xiong, General Manager of Dunavant International Freight Agency, has over 20 years of experience in shipping, transportation, freight forwarding and 3PL logistics. Xiong previously served as International GM of COSCO, where he oversaw the company’s agent network in Asia and Europe.
“These additions not only expand our customer service offerings, but they also continue to bring great people into the Dunavant organization,” said McDuffie. “It is our people who make the difference in providing innovative and efficient logistics solutions to our customers. We are excited to bring both of these divisions into our company.”
